I have swap magic 3.6 and the flip top that came with the disk (i did have the swap magic flip top installed, but the diskdosent spin, so i stuck with the original ps2 top) and i have a v12 slimline ps2 and i dont know if im copying the games correctly. Ive made a iso of RE4 with nero 6 and then i took the iso image and burned it on a verbatim dvd-r disk at 1x speed with nero 6 and then i ran swap magic 3.6 (the dvd disk) and it loads to the load program menu. from there i open my original flip top and it says "insert bigger TOC disk" i take out the swap magic disk and put in my back up copy of RE4 and close the lid, whene i closed the lid it says not a valid ps2 disc and then it takes about 5 sec to load and then when it does i hit load program with a normal boot and nothin happens besides the screen frezzez to load for a sec and then the green hilter marker thing starts to flicker again.
I have also tryed the same method but this time instad of making a iso image i did a direct copy from the main RE4 disc and the same dvd disc with nero 6.
I have tryed dvd decripter, and it writes a iso but it dosent burn it on the disk even though it said the burn was complete.
Do i neeed to patch my games, even with swap magic?
Do i actully need the flip top that came with the set of swap magic?
Why doesent any disc spin with the swap magic flip top installed?
WHat am i doing wrong?
I need serious help! please!

Are you still using the original flip top that came with your PS2? If so, you will need to get something like Magic Keys or Magic Switch, so that your PS2 doesn't know when you're opening the lid. That is why you are getting the "Insert bigger TOC" screen.
Here is a link to where you can get what you need: http://ihackps2.org/inventory/home.php?cat=249

Okay I am confused. Your thread and title says that you have a slim PSTwo. If you want to use the swap magic, then you need to modify your PSTwo. Every time you open the lid, the PS2 wil check to see if it is a valid disc you are putting in. So you need some switches to block those sensors.

It takes 1 minute to install.

I am having a similar problem with my slim line PS2 and flip top. I installed it and follwed the instructions from the website correctly
http://www.modchipstore.com/files/images/v12disassembly-fliptop.jpg But every time i try to load up my swap magic discs the PS2 won't spin the discs and it says there is no data. It is also the same when i try loading up normal games. I tried changing the flip top cover to make sure that my PS2 wasn't broken and the games worked fine. But when i put my flip top cover back on the disc wouldn't spin again. What is going on? did i miss something when i was installing the flip top??
HELP MEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try using the flip-top mod that came with swap magic, and try presing down the top while the swapmagic boots. Also make sure your PS2 is off when you place the swap magic disc.

Also, for those who want to use the Breaker Pro you will need the same magic tool/magic switch/tissue & tape mod. You'll notice they ship the SlideTool with Breaker Pro, but that *WILL NOT* work with the new slim v12+.

Am I reading this right or am I missing something? I just ordered the flip top and swap magic 3.6 discs. I have a slim PS2 that I just bought to replace an older version 1. My model on the new slim PS2 is SCPH-75001.
I am hoping that all I need to do is replace my top with the new flip top. Am I looking at having to make other modifications? The company I ordered my flip top from said I'd only have to replace the flip top and would be good to go.

Will the tape trick work with the newer scph-75001 models, or should I just open it up and see for myself?

@CoelCash: The tape trick works with sensor A & disc brake B. But $ony put a metal bar across where sensor C goes; it can be tricked but takes the Magic Switch Pro v2 to do it. The tape+tissue mod still works :)
