i have anydvd 5.1.1.1 and dvd shrink and am having trouble with backing it up...i'm getting the invalid dvd structure error...can anyone help? thanks in advance for any assistance.
"Stealth" is a brand new Columbia / Tristar disc. This means it has Sony's ARccOS copy protection. And, it has a slightly modified version of this protection (so do two other recent releases, "Madagascar," and "Bewitched."). They have changed the protection, just to try to trip up many of the rippers currently in use.
Do a search. There are workarounds.
One method (not the one I would use): DVD FabDecrypter. It will probably break it, but if the disc itself has any problems (dirty, scratched, fingermarked), it will also rip it with those same flaws in the rip. Not my idea of a great rip.
Better methods (in my opinion): DVDDecrypter to rip. THEN, open up VOBBlanker, and pass it through that, which can fix the problems deliberately built into the structure as a form of protection. Then, burn using your usual burner.
Or, DVDDecrypter, with a dedicated imported .PSL file. This can also work fine, and there are usually .PSL files posted over at the Digital Video Forums. You can also make your own, and the instructions for doing this can be found over there.
There is a lot of info on these three discs over at that forum. You can also try searching here, to see what worked for others. For example, my first try at searching using the term "Stealth" on this forum brought up this thread, which has 130 different posts, so far.
Search is your friend. You could have already had your answer by now, and you might even have finished backing up this disc, and be kicking back and relaxing.
