is there any programs that u can download to play ps1 games on ps2 using swap magic to boot

No. I came across this which is supposed to work with the slim. If you don't have a slim, then get Breaker Pro. It's basically Swap Magic for PSX games. It works great. I use to use it with a flip top.

bug793, the way i play ps1 backups on my slim ps2 with swap magic 3.6 is with the fliptop, i use a magic key (straw method).. You put an original PS1 game in your PS2 ( I use Twisted Metal 2 ) and with your fliptop open wait for the disc to slow down and rite when it does take the PS1 Orignal Game off and swap it with the PS1 backup.. the playstation logo screen will come up and the disc will load.

I got this from a thread a while back and it works like a charm with every game ive tried (like 10 backups)... i dont remember who the person is or i would credit him/her.

Hi there!

Maybe... I tried it many times with a bunch of tool-discs. None
worked fine. You'd need a PS2 tool-disc, which is capable of loading PS1-discs. I don't know even one, that can do that.

You know what finally worked for me? :)
I had an original of Equalizer Xtreme (a simple cheat cd for playstation one; few bucks on eBay). Just Insterted it in the PS2, waited 'til the program loaded, then dropped the cd, and inserted a PS1-backup. Menue -> Start game -> ok. And the backup ran on my PS2.

PS1 originals always work on Playstation 2.

Well that's what Breaker Pro does. It's a boot CD for PSX backups and imports. It works on all versions of PSX and PS2.
