Recently I made a copy of one game (A PS2 game, Marvel Vs Capcom 2) copied it using DVD decrypter. It was small enough to put on a CD-R, so I did and it worked like a charm however now, I've been trying to back up PSone games (Valkyrie profile) and for some reason Cog Swap won't load it, is Cogswap unable to load some games? Do I have to shell out 30$ for a swap magic disc or what?

cog swap wont load ps1 games, swap magic won't load ps1 games either. You need breaker pro for ps1 game.
