Last December I bought a SONY external DVD burner. Included in the package was the Nero 6.0 suite. I tried many times to edit some video but when I would try to save my edits I would get the error message that you can't make or edit movies in this program. Does this mean that the Nero version I received was not a FULL version?

90% of the time you get a proggy for free its an OEM program MEANING it's not the complete program.

Nero has 18 different programs in it's Suite. You probably got just the basic programs. I suggest downloading Nero 7 for the 30-day free trial. Use Recode2 in the "Remake a DVD" Mode. You'll find it easy to edit your DVD and an enjoyable way to handle your DVD's in general.

Yes it seems you got the watered down OEM version that is usually all that ships with burners, just the basics to get you going. Go to Nero's site and download version 6 but only Package 1 and 2, leave the rest alone as they can cause you some grief. Install your D/L and see if you can upgrade to the full version, you may be lucky.

Giving pple poor information is not what aD is all about. If you are unfamiliar with the program, you should consider researching it a bit before posting.

Hi BillMc,

Nero 6 AND Nero 7 are excellent programs. We do, however suggest that you skip the InCD download. InCD is a packet writer and like all packet writers it does, at times, cause problems in accessing your burner. I suggest that you download all the other Nero programs as well as Package 1 and Package 2. They have an excellent program for photo's called PhotoSnap, another one to help you make covers for your DVD's and Nero's Showtime is a very handy player. Nero'sRecode2 (In Nero 6, it's in package # 2). Nero's Recode2 is a dynamite program. Think of it as DVD Shrink with some serious Bells and Whistles. Buying Nero for a single program is a waste of $$$$. You have 30-days, play with Nero, have fun and then, like most of us, you too may think it a good collection of programs to have on your Desktop.

As you have the link for Nero 7, here is the link for Nero 6:

Pete
