A few days ago my PS2 stopped working. I turn it on and the indicator lights change, there's a small flicker in the screen and it stops.
I decided to reset the unit by removing the internal battery briefly and voila! my PS2 started working again... once. So I did this once more, taking my time to measure the voltage from the battery (2.8V out of a nominal 3V) and again it worked fine only the first time I booted up.
The battery is 2 years old and still has most of it's charge, but I'm going to try changing it for a new one anyway and report back if indeed this was the source, but I doubt it.
Has this happened to anyone before? What was your solution?

Kind of funny, when the battery stops working, the clock should stop, and the moving galaxy type thing at the beginning sometimes stops working, but the ps2 should boot as normal.
