I am an extreme newbie to this so please forgive me in advance. I am trying to create a DVD of several photos that I have scanned onto my computer. I have downloaded DVDSanta and it appears to be what I am looking for. I have 2 questions that are kind of related.
1. Is DVDSanta the best program to create the photo dvd?

As for the 2nd question, DVDSanta lets you add a song to the photo slide show. I would like to add just small portions of different songs to the dvd - such as 30 second parts of songs, not the entire song. I have a program that can split off small protions of songs but it will have the song start and end abruptly. I need a program that will let me split off approx 30 seconds of the song but will fade in at the beginning of the clip and fade out at the end of the clip

2. Is there any program that will let me split smalled portions of music but will have it fade in and out?

I am not sure if this is the correct forum so please forgive me. Any advice is greatly considered. Thanks

I know that I have posted this on another forum but after several hours, I have not gotten a responce so I decied to try a different forum. I may have posted in incorrect forum then (maybe now too)

Sorry for posting the same question in 2 forums but the only reason that I did that was because I was not getting any response on the other forum. I thought that I may have put in wrong forum. This may not be the correct forum either since I have not gotten any response from this post. Can someone please help direct me to the correct forum so I can get a response. Thanks

autiger,

Give it some time and stop double posting - Someone WILL come along and help you - ppl arent going to necessarily get to you a few hours after postings. It could take days.

Anyway,

Let me at least try to offer you some assistance on some of your concerns...

Is dvd santa the best? I am sure that will be a matter of opnion ... Most softwares will do the video shows that you are wanting anyway ... What programs do you already have on your comp? I cannot personally speak about dvd santa because I have never used it.

Lets talk about some programs I have used to this.

Pinnacle
Nero
There are a couple others but I cant recall being as though I am not on my home comp at this moment -

PINNACLE - Pinnacle offers alot of opportunities with this, not just music but also other special effects. I like what I have been able to do with my Pinnacle slideshows and I have never had any complications playing the end result on any stand alone player.

Nero- The Nero package I used in the past to do this was ok. Did I like it more than Pinnacle - no. I also felt that the Pinnacle application was easier to use - especially for someone who does not know alot about these types of things. I did have an issue with one disk I did in Nero where it would not play on the Grand Parents stand alone and I had to just put regular pictures on a disk for them to view them. I am not sure if that was a Nero problem though.

I hope this helps you a little bit.

I will check back on your thread and see if you have gotten anymore help - and I may be able to assist you further if this is not enough info for you - but it will have to be after I get back home.

I am sorry for the double post. It will not happen again. Thanks for the info and I will check them out. Any advise on the audio so I can fade in/out on small clips of songs? Do not worry. I will wait until someone responds. Please forgive me!!!!

Both of these programs, and most others that do photo slideshows - will let you choose some music the program has, or let you choose your own music.

It will let me add any music but I do not want to add the entire song. The audio splitting program I have can make a small portion of songs but the clip does not fade in/out. I am looking for a program to make a clip of a song fade in/out.
