i encoded a DVD to MPEG-2 format and i can't Edit it.

i can't even play the video and i converted the video "Formula 51", and i tried to edit it in TMPGenc and it shows an error. whats the problem

The error I get doing the same task is "Could not open this file with dierectshow." after running and choosing type mpeg1 or mpeg2. The file is over 1gig.
