Over the last couple of years shrink has been a mainstay for my back-ups. Recently, with Stealth in particular, shrink by itself is not enough. Fortunately, I've had sucess with the newer movies using shrink and running anydvd in the background. Does anyone have any suggestions on a better combination?

DVD Shrink + AnyDVD is a great combo it's handled pretty much anything I've tossed at it so far, Ian alternative would be DVDFab and DVD Shrink, advantage being it's freeware.

"ARccOS? is the first and only available digital and dynamic DVD-Video copy control which effectively prevents unauthorized DVD copying on PC. ?Our customers are pleased to finally have found a copy control solution for DVD-Video that protects their content successfully."

Shrink and decrypter ain't dead yet - a simple way to bypass Sony's ACross protection and rip movies such as Madagascar is:

Rip using the ISO Read mode in DVD Decrypter

Open DVD Shrink - Go to File - Open Disk Image

Analyse - Re-Author - then burn with Nero or similar - easy.

AnyDVD, DVDdecrypter, and DVDShrink are my mainstay as well. I also have CloneDVD2, and DVDFab Decrypter, but don't use them as much as I use the other three.

Cheers.

quote."DVDShrink and AnyDVD, anything better out there?" as far as transcders, you can get igual quality but not better. transcoder like Nero recode2, dvdclone2, are only as good as shrink, not better.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

Lennme,

For ripping the movie files; Try DVD CSS + Region Free in conjunction with DVD Decrypter. Works a treat for around 99% of movies. DVD Decrypter still works to this day, and will do so for some time. Occasionally you may encounter a problem such as Madagascar etc... But you also have the option of DVDFab Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD.

Fortunately nowadays, there are a few choices for people who enjoy using their favourite DVD programs. So people now have a selection to choose from on what they like, and what works best for them.

My main formula:

Shrink w/Decrypter auto burn

A few newer encryption movies:

DVDFab Decrypter to HD; Shrink w/Decrypter auto burn

Flawless and very simple system for me. I always re-author for main movie only, as I can use my player for chapters and dont care for the extra's. If movie is longer than say 6200, then I will put it on two disks using Shrink with no compression.
