I am unable to rip some dvd's using decrypter. These are usually dvds that have many files like 70 to 80. I notice these messages in the decrypter log: Possible Structure Protection Found! - 4 areas have been marked as 'suspect'. - Dummy sectors will be inserted where necessary. Can you tell me what is causing this and if there is a fix.

Probably due to Sony's ACross protection.

Rip using the ISO Read mode in DVD Decrypter

Open DVD Shrink - Go to File - Open Disk Image

Analyse - Re-Author - then burn with Nero or similar

Hi,

The newer movies that are coming out have update' protection and dvd decrypter is no longer updated. You can try dvdfab decrypter (software tab at the top of the page) if you want to use the free route. Also I suggest looking into purchasing anydvd. There is a 21 day trial period and what it does is runs in the background and bypasses the latest protections. When the trial period expires you will have to purchase the program..well worth the money as many here use it. Updates are free (lifetime) once you purchase it. http://www.slysoft.com/ check it out.

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56831 nifty little guide using dvd decrypter when you have problems with the newer protections.

Oops colw already replied. Either way both methods should work.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

Thanks for the info.

To colw - I tried to rip using the ISO Read mode in Decrypter verses the File mode I was previously using. Unfortunately it didn't work either - I received the following error messages: Failed to read Sector 181168, Uncorrectable Error, Failed to Extract Sectors!
Operation Failed!

I'm checking into dvdfab decrypter and AnyDVD as suggested by matt72. By the way, I am also unable to open the link for the decrypter guide matt72 listed - I get a Web Site Not Responding message.

Any other suggestions from either of you or anyone else would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
