Okay, well i wanna know sum stuff about xbox modding.
1)If you save an entire game to your xbox and play that game on live, will they ban you?
2)Can i just turn off mods once i have them downloaded onto my xbox? or do i have to completly delete them?
3)how many games can i save to my xbox? (as in memory limit)
4)If I get banned on xbox live, is it a permanent ban or is it less for first time offense?
5)Where can i locate run super fast mods, and stuff like that? I couldn't find any on google or jeeves.
thats about it, if anyone could answer any of these questions, that would be great

1. xbox live will not be able to tell if it is ahard copy or not therefore they cant ban you
2. If you softmodded your box you must delete the modded files to turn off your mods. if you have a chip you can turn them off easy.
3.depends how big your hard drive is
4.its less for 1st time offenders
5. you can create your own mods by transfering the maps onto your com via ftp and messing with the codding. Butm dont ask me this is what im trying to figure out right now

I'm sorry, but snowballz has NO clue what he is talking about.
1) If you have the game on your hdd and you try to connect, your xbox EEPROM will be INSTANTLY banned from XBL FOREVER!
2) If you are talkin about h2 mods, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to turn you mods "off". Mods are modifications of maps. You do them to the original...therefore you can't just say "off" and they turn off. You must delete them off your hdd and replace them w/ "clean" maps by either ftping your backups back on or re d/ling them from the d/l content.
But if you are talkin about your xbox softmod, there are ways to turn the softmod on and off depending on which installer you use.
3) One game...maybe not even that. I believe you can't fit h2 on your hdd...unless you ftp it to your hdd, remove 3 files (associated w/ xbl) to get more space and then ftp it back. Or if you have crappy games or really old games, you might fit as much as 3 on your hdd. It all depends on how big the game is.
4) Depending on what you get banned for. If you get banned b/c you have modified h2 maps on your hdd, you will be permanently banned from mm. If you get caught w/ having your xbox modded, then your xbox eeprom will be banned for your life. If you stand by, you will only be punished for 1 day on your first offense, then it becomes a few days, then week(s) and so on.
5) Try www.se7en-sins.tk You can learn how to make your own mods, or d/l mods that you want like those, and also spawn mods. They have more sh!t if you just wanna check it out...

Oh, sorry, I didnt see that snowballz was new to all this. Bro, try going to that www.se7en-sins.tk site if you are wanting to know how to mod the maps and get them to work on your xbox. Hope this helps the both of you guys out.

sorry but your both worng if you have a softmodded xbox and a modded dahsboard (which is required to play games on your hard drive)
you will not be able to connect because the live files are in your original ms dashboard,so you cannot play on live with a hard drive game,if it is on a backup disc then you won't get banned as long as the files are the exact same type as they were on the original disc.
so there you go.as for the chip well if you switch it on while your on live then yes you WILL be banned.

you can softmod your xbox then put on your modded maps then delete the whole mod thing and just have your maps.

Sorry man...but you are the wrong one. Trust me...I've gotten around 10 xbox's in my area on xbl w/ softmod. I also have a tutorial that I made on how to get on live w/ a softmod. And there is absolutely NO WAY you can get on live w/ burned games man...why do you think there was such an uproar in the modding community when the update came out when h2 came out? Its cuz people were getting banned for having their mod chips on to play the games. Also, if you have the same files on the copy as on the original...you still need to have your modified bios to run the game, if you have those enabled, then you will be banned from live.
So yeah, all what I said is from experience and is correct...sorry to bust your nuts bro.

Alrighty then, well so far this is what i gathered.... Softmodding is not a good idea if you want to play online. Messing with Halo2 maps and stuff sounds like loads of fun, but i'm really only thinking about the saving games onto your xbox. now, which way would be best to go about this? A) Softmod, get the linux installer (i have yet to recieve a working one), saved games and get banned. Thats what it sounds like to me. But, If i use modding chips?
1)How much do they cost?
2)were can i find them?
3)when i save games to my xbox, can i play them online w/o ban?
4)is it just better to not mod altogether?
If you guys could let me know that would be great. Oh and remember, telling me that i'm wrong wont phase me, as i'm a newbie.

Ok, here's the deal. No matter what, you will get banned if you go on xbl (no matter what game) and you have modded maps on your xbox (e.g. if you play Rainbow 6 and have modded h2 maps...you will be banned from mm when you get on h2). You will not be banned from xbl, just mm on that ONE acct. Softmodding is fairly simple...it's not simple if you have a tendency to f*ck shit up by not following directions or when you dont know what to do, you try to delete shit. HARDMOD (modchip) and SOFTMOD (software modification) are NEARLY the same thing. Both can get on xbl if you know what you are doing. Well...I should say, sometimes if you have an old modchip, you wont be able to go on live. For a good modchip, I think that it is about 40-45 bucks w/o shipping. I dont know, I havent checked in a while. I bought mine + shipping at $67.xx so yeah. If I were you, I would just softmod. You can find tutorials at the site I listed above (#5). Hope this somewhat helps. There is also a tutorial on how to get on xbl w/ your softmod if you needed that (at the #5 site). Also, there is a way to install h2 mods on your hdd w/o softmodding, but...I dont think I've seen a tutorial anywhere. I'm sure someone will make one shortly.

Well here's my noobieness full swing. This is what I did. First I got splintercell and ARMAX. I tried using (username)Ca$h's tutorial on how to softmod. All was going smooth untill i started up the game. there was a linux profile, but when selescted nothing happened. I was really P!ssed off. So then I went and bought Mechassault (platinum) didn't work. So i bout mechassault (regualr) and CA$H's mentioned linux file was too big for the mc(memory card). So i messed around with some of the Action replay community saves for mechassault linux profiles. Well, About 5 hours of nonstop switching and transferring, I still didn't come up with a freaking good profile. now, my friend took back his ARMAX, and I only have my ethernet cable. People say you can use it to put crap on your XBOX using IP adresses. well i dont know how to do that. second, I dont know what to do at all about the profiles. I dont want to go and buy ARMAX without a GOOD profile. So, I either need clear instructions on how to get this WORKING linux file. Or I need sum1 to send me the file like in an email or sumthing (MDVCPS2FREAK@netscape.net), Or, or, I need to know how to transfer files via ethernet cable. Or, or, or, I need some asprin (given) and a real GOOD WORKING tutorial that clearly explains things in a way that retard modders (me) can understand, and is easy to follow. Azzidrain, if you could help me out one more time, i'll even let you call me a noobie (again). Or some random person could come to my aid. whoever shows up first.
