I have seen many people discuss on DVD±R medias and which media codes are the best quality disc. But what about the DVD+RW media scene?
So far, according to the media list, I can only find 2 reliable media codes for DVD+RW 4x medias and that's the ones from Ricoh (RICOHJPNW11) and MKM (MKM A02).
Has anyone used them yet? How's the quality in terms of quality scans? Are they in comparable with their DVD+R counterparts? Any advice on selecting good quality DVD+RW medias?
Acextreme- Have'nt used them yet but from experience with their DVD-R & Dvd +R media I would consider Verbatims probably a good choice ! I would buy a few of the various brands you could find locally and try them out ! If they all peform equally well buy the least expensive ones ! But try atleast one verbatim Good luck & keep us posted!
Well, I went shopping for some DVD+RW a couple of days ago and decided to settle on Verbatim instead of the Ricoh coded medias. I personally have very good experience dealing with Verbatim for their DVD+R medias, so I took the assumption that their DVD+RW shpuld be just as good as well.
Well, I did some burns but have yet done any analysis yet because my drives won't give an accurate scans on the quality. Pioneer drives just isn't good for quality scans, I guess.

you are SOOOO right one the money with that one...i have quite a few pioneer drives and i CAN tell u from experience that i will NEVER go by my pioneer scans as they fluctuate EVERY SINGLE TIME, nothing is consistent with the scans, so DO NOT go by Nero cd-dvd speed scans from your pioneer...i use a liteon drive to produce ACCURATE disc quality scans personally...just wanted to point out your statement as being 100% accurate~ :)
p.s. i don't have very much experience with DVD+RW myself, but, i use Ritek Ridata and they have been fine for my limited RW needs :) i'm sure there are "better ones" out there, but, the Ritek Ridatas are "good enough" for me~

I use LOTS of DVD+RW discs in my LiteOn LVW-5005 set top recorders .. My experience has been that the MKM A02 and A03 coded Verbatim discs are the best and, surprisingly enough, the Philips O41 coded HP discs are pretty good also .. It's funnt though because the Philips O41 coded Imation discs are total crap for some reason ... And the Ricohjpn W11 and W21 are just behind the HP discs
Bottom line ... The MKM A02 and MKM A03 are worth any premiom you may have to pay for them as they're by far and away the best +RW discs available!!!
I gave my Philips DVDr-72 a Good Blow Job ! LOL! not what it sounds like this is a family show after all ! hit it with the canned air again & aimed lower this time ! Have'nt tried recording with it yet! wife keeps sticking movies in it to enetrtain her brother He's staying with us for a few ! But it is playing my DVD-R burns that it had quit playing at all so that's a good sign ! Even if it does record right again I'm keeping the liteon 5005 because it has more features & I can do deck to deck dubs with both then! Aso for what it's worth Verbatim 8X DVD+R works good in the Philips when it's working Right! you'se de MAN ! Thanks for your input & experience ! Peace & Happy Burning!
