Of all the pictures of modchip installs I see the modchip near the centre of the motherboard. My question is how is the modchip held in place? Is there some sort of mechanism that helps secure the modchip to that location?

Ill give u a hand.. well any way you want ...with some limitations you can use Kapton tape or any outher E.S.D. safe tape AKA NON-Conductive tape or non-contuctive adheasevie (Can't spell :) ) epoxy ... but tape is the best in case u have a problem or such you can remove it with no damage... have fun hit me back if u have any outher problems

So you can use Kapton tape by just taping the undersid? Or would it be ok to tape the top as well?

you pronily just want to tape to the bottem side i dont know fi u could fond that that tape in like raido shack or some thing but just ask them for take that will not conduct electricity i had a problem with that 1 time the tape caused prob's so im around let me know how it goes..

oh yea if u can make sure it work before u close it all up...just hook up all the cables waries and such and power up your unit it will save u some time and will also take some finess
