i dont usually bother getting movies, i just do when they are not screened in my area. However, the newest movies on the net are released by groups, a couple of well known groups are TCF, VideoCD, ESO, uTI, Tcs, ftf and theres tonnes and tonnes more!! They usually release movies as vcd/svcd (image files, usually .bin/.cue).
However, these files are edited by places like tmd so that they become very small in size and can be easy distributed over kazaa and places like that! That means the quality loses out big time and usually they slap a nice little add or a url or something on it too and that can mess up the colour if you wanted to encode it to vcd/svcd!! You can see the real quality of releases at http://www.vcdquality.com but you cant download movies off that site, they are released on IRC or through newsgroups!
