ARMAX Evo won't boot backup games

I have a modchip installed(matrix chip) on my slim PS2. I tried using ARMAX evo but when i select "start game" it tells me to "ensure game disc is loaded". Then i put in my game disc but it just doesnt load the game...the disc dnt even spin...

is it that ARMAX evo is not compatible with backups?? i dnt have the ARMAX memory card thingy yet..im planning to buy ARMAX but b4 i do i just wanna make sure if its gonna work or not..
