i've been editing then burning home movies using pinnacle studio 9 software. I made sure to get the best media - i use taiyo yuden, but my movies are still skipping during playback, never during the first 20 minutes. I'm not using any labels, just an ink stamp...
I'm burning the discs at low speed (2X) and for some reason they're still skipping....
What is the most likely cause? The software? The burner? The player?

hi, could be a combination of all of the above...i am unfamiliar with pinnacle studio 9 myself, have never tried or used it before...but, as per your media...are you SURE they are GENUINE Taiyo Yudens? what is the rated speed of them? 4x DVD-R? 8x DVD-R? 8x DVD+R?
also, PERSONALLY, i NEVER burn ANYTHING that slow @2x, IF your TYs are genuine, burn them @4x...also, what type of burner are you using? need model number and brand...is your firmware updated to the latest for your drive? there could be many possibilities as to why you are having some playback issues...
does your backup play back JUST FINE on your pc? are the problems ONLY apparent during playback on standalone player? need a lil more info..and i can help u further~

i am having somewhat the same problem
i use verbatim dvd to burn
and well i burn the movie and it kinds stalls for like 1 secound ever 40 min or 30 min in the movie?
the weird thing is it plays fine on my pc but on my home dvd player it skips and its also does on my friends dvd player so whats up with that
