I?ve been reading several instances where someone with a low end burner or low end media will run into problems when erasing DVD-RW media. Well? now I have the same problem. I have a Toshiba SD-R5002 ?R/-RW, it seems to be a great drive. I was using Memorex DVD-RW discs with out problem. Yesterday I was erasing one of them with Nero and my system crashed in the middle of the ?erase? process. Well now when I insert the DVD I get a ?media is read only?!!
So I tried the other disc that I did not erase? same thing! I also tried using Easy CD Creator and Ulead MovieFactory 2 and received the identical message.

When I got to the ?properties? on my DVD drive I also receive the same message!?

Has anyone else had this problem? Could the system crash in the middle of the burn have damaged the drive? I read some place that if the TOC on the disc gets damaged it?s done for? When I look at the ?properties? both disc say ?can not read TOC?. I have a Mini Disc deck and every once in a while I run into TOC errors and I have to toss the Mini Disc. Will this be the same thing with the DVD-RW?

If anyone can give me a little advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
