I have a slim v12 ps2 with sm 3.6.I kinda wanted to get a modchip cause swapping everytime is starting to become a pain in the a**.I was just wondering if i should get a modchip or not and what modchip?

Just get that modchip, it's so much easier. I've installed Muppet V12 modchip, which has 100% lens safe and doesn't need any "extra installation". It's also pretty easy to install and a cheap option. I have installed those about 50 now and not a single one of them has broke the PS Two. So there you got one option.
Another is Matrix Infinity, which is very good modchip also, just rather expensive (at least here in north Europe)
