I just bought this DVD recorder from Meijers for $70 after rebate. It looks very promising. However, unfortunately, it only uses the RF output for an antenae bypass, and does not actually modulate its own output (like on channel 3 or channel 4). This makes me very sad, because my TV does not have RCA input jacks, and my VCR does not handle the macrovision copyprotection. Hence, I still cannot play DVD's on my setup. :(
However, I noticed a firmware upgrade for lvw-1105HC at http://www.liteonamericas.com/us/download_dvd.htm . I used the hack program to hack the firmware upgrade and it said it had no problem getting rid of macrovision. However, I am hesitant to use it, because the 1105HC is a different model than the 1105GHC. (The 1105GHC isn't even on their websites!)

Thanks! I was looking around at Walmart this weekend and picked up a Phillips RF modulator, so now I can watch DVD's. However, if anyone has found a way to disable the macrovision on the lvw-1105GHC I am still interested.
