I am computer literate, and I know my way around, but I can not find any way to change/check the book typing for nreo recode. I have nero 7, with an LG Writer (I can't remember the exact model of my writer, but I just bought it and I know it can book type).

Sorry for sounding ignorant, but I have search this forum on book typing and every thread that talks about it say to go into the tools menu and change it there. The manual say the same thing, but I have no idea how to access the tools menu in Nero Recode.

For anyone out there that knows how to do this - could you please post a step by step instruction as to how to change it. Like I said, I am computer literate, and I am somewhat embarrased to ask this - but I need help. Thanks in advance.

Download DVD Decrypter from this site.

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_...

Then

Go to tools, Drive, Capabilities. This will give you your model# and firmware version. Go here to make sure your firmware is up to date: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=17

Go to mode ISO write, then click on the pic of the little book in the bottom right hand corner. Click on the LG tab.

Then

Choose the media type you are using and then what you wish to booktype it to. Click OK and viola!

fuches--
No need to set the booktype in Recode---as long as your DVD Writer is set to do it--you can usually do it right at the manufacturer's website (LG)--then no matter what program you burn the disk with it will be ROM---can also be set for each burn in DVD Decrypter if you use that to burn--

LOL

I like yours better...alot easier to type out.

@fuches

We also forgot to mention that the only media capable of being booktyped is the +R variety.

If you have the following set to "Automatic" then whenever you use Nero Recode 2, Nero Express or Nero Burning Rom to burn, all your backups will automatically set the book type to DVD-ROM. That is... if your DVD burner is capable of book typing.

((Here's how to Book Type using Nero Burning Rom))

01) open up Nero StartSmart, then click on Nero Burning Rom
02) EXIT out the "New Compilation" when it pops up
03) click on "Chooses A Recorder" (it's a small burner icon next to (I) and the arrow down)
04) click on ?Options," then on "Book Type Settings," set to "Automatic" and click "OK" - that's it... easy as smoking. Now every time when you burn using a DVD+R, DVD+RW or DVD+R DL disc, Nero will ?automatically? change the Book Type into a DVD-ROM format.
