Hi all - my 1st post.

I have a V.7 PS2 that I have successfully modded with a DMS4 E.Z.I. Pro a few months back in an effort to keep my kids from destroying games faster than I could buy them.

All went well until one day I was put on notice that the PS2 was "broken". It turns out that the CD/DVD drive was not recognizing any disk, backup or otherwise, and was making a repetitve sound whenever a disk was in the drive. I had done some searching on in forums, etc., and found several references to the apparent necessity of "lense cleaning".

Ok - did this, went to re-assemble and found that it would not power on. In checking connections, I realized there (at least) was a problem with the Eject/Reset P.O.S. 7-pin Ribbon cable. I was able, depending upon exactily how I held the cable, to get it to power-up sometimes...

I found that the only run which is completely visible to the edge pins, was broken.

OK, I know that I can purchase a replacement from several online sources, but hell, why would I want to go back with that P.O.S. arrangement? This, of course, assuming that it is my ONLY problem.

Does anyone feel my pain here? ; )

What I would like, is a pin-out of the cable runs (Model 39001 V.7 - RESET/EJECT CABLE) so that I can effect a "real wire" soldered repair, or any other solution you may have.

Has anyone out there done this?
