I downloaded a few 1.4mb movies and converted them to VOB's using DivX to DVD Converter. The quality on the 1.4 movies are twice as good as the 700. My problem comes when going to burn them using Nero. My new VOB movie file is split in half. And the system won't allow me to burn two files on one disc. So I am going to end up with two DVDR's for one movie. Two DVDR's with only half the space used. This seems very inefficient to me. I am a noobie so any help would me much appreciated!! Is there any way to put the information from my two separate files...cd1/cd2...into one folder so it can be burned together as one? I just hate the thought of using two discs for one movie...thanks!!!!

Ummm...Why not just Join the 2 Files together and then Convert them with DivXtoDVD and put them on DVD as you can Only Put one File on a DVD at a Time with the Freeware version of DivXtoDVD and you can Only Burn One "Video_TS" Folder to a DVD.....

You can use something like "Virtual-Dub" to join the 2 Files into one File....Just Load in the First file and then go to "File" to "Append AVI Segment" and then Load in the second File and then set Both "Audio" and "Video" to "Direct stream Copy" and then go to "File" to "Save as AVI" and Give the File a Name and save it and you will have the 2 Files Joined as One File.....

Hi there,

If you load all those AVI/MPG etc.. files in DivxToDVD, they can all be converted together.

Then you end up with 1 VIDEO_TS directory, that can be burned with any software you want !

Even the freeware version let's you load more than 1 file !
Just load them one by one, in the order you wish them to be converted.

Thanks for the help guys. I tried DivX to DVD 2....and for whatever reason it took twelve hours to convert...and after loading cd1 and cd2 it still only converted cd 1 into VOB files. and then it wouldn't play on my dvd player. So then i tried cougar's advice and returned to the freeware version and it converted the entire movie...both files... in four and a half hours, but then it wouldn't play on my dvd player once i burned it with Nero. However, oddly enough it played on my portable dvd player. So i am thinking it's my dvd player, maybe i need an updated one that plays several formats...cuz mine on the front of it says dvd/vcd/cd player. any ideas would be much appreciated....thanks guys.

Hello mburke300,

Please take note that DivToDVD2 Shareware version in DEMO MODE will be twice as SLOW, because it has to render a watermark on the output.

Once purchased, it should be twice as fast.

Basicly be as fast as the freeware version if not faster (Since you can now chance the threat priority).

And it all depends how fast is your CPU and how much ram you have.

I usually convert a 700mb AVI in about 1 hour with a P4 @ 3.2 Ghz with 512 mb of ram, and everage a rate of x1.7 (50fps) about !

Have you tried DVD Shrink?If you have coverted your avi's to VOB then you can use shrink to re-author your disc.Once you re-author,back it up to hard drive.Then burn your backed up file with Nero.I hope this helps.
