Greetings forum! I don't think this is a problem with DVD shrink, but this seems to be a pattern now.
I encode a DVD, I put in a blank one to copy. It fails. Then when I try to back up again, I get a redundancy error and it can't read my dvd drive. So I reboot. It starts reading my DVD drive, I do the encoding thing again and my entire computer will turn off in the middle of it.

I've run virus scans/adware and spyware scans, both locally and online. Any clues?

Also, once I have done the encoding, the files are on my hard drive, do I have to go through the entire coding again to burn it or can I just burn it from my hard drive. Even if I use the open file option, it still wants a destination to copy the files.

That error you are getting is really common, it ususally means that the disc is either too dirty or scratched. There is a great CRC thread here, you should find all your answers in the first few post. Here is the link:

Once you've ripped it to your HD you can burn from your HD, have the distination set at being the blank. But if your use the copy you just made w/ Shrink as the source then the whole encoding shouldn't take anylonger than 10 mins, regardless if RAM (unless you have like 128 or something, but even then...).
