I get the message

---------------------------
DVD Shrink 3.2
---------------------------
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

Failed to read file "D:\"

The parameter is incorrect.

---------------------------

What exactly does this mean and does anyone know how I can get around it?

DL the free DVDFab Decrypter from http://www.filepedia.com look under rippers. Then rip to your HDD and proceed to open the file with Shrink and compress and burn as usual. Shrink cannot handle the protection on this movie by itself. You can also DL the trial version of AnyDVD available from http://www.slysoft.com and run it in the background and then use Shrink as usual.

Arnie, just downloaded DVDFab and tried to use it. I am getting the message

---------------------------
DVDFabDecrypter
---------------------------
Get DVD information fail. 4096
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Not sure what this means either. Although the review for DVDFab when I downloaded it off that sight kept complaining of it locking and freezing peoples computers up. Although that didnt happen to me, I just got the above message.

This is the brand new beta ver. may be bugs in it. You can still get the prior version here http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

Uninstall the one you have and reinstall the prior version. You have to uninstall each time you update this program. Otherwise as stated you can try the trial version of AnyDVD.

Ok, I have AnyDVD downloaded, and am still trying to burn this movie. How exactly do I run this in the background and use DVD Shrink with it. I clicked all the desired settings I wanted on AnyDVD, then click ok, and the dvd starts playin full screen starting with the previews. Then I tried DVD Shrink and am still getting the same error message "Parameter is incorrect."

I just think im not using AnyDVD correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

Also its the trial version and keeps telling me I have 20 days left till i have to purchase it, but i assumed this didnt matter

All you have to do to run AnyDVD is double click on the fox icon that it installed on your desktop. You will now see a red fox in the task tray. Now put the DVD in the DVD drive. Wait for the fox to flash pale red and then back to red. Once it has done its flashy thing you can open the program that you use to rip. I use DVDShrink. Click the open disc button and go to town. Analyze, encode and burn with your burn program be it decrypter, or Nero.

You will get the notice of the amount of days left until it expires. I recommend buying it as it is an invaluable resource.

Cheers.

There is a detail link in my signature block for AnyDVD use.

9mm, I tried it and it didn't work. Don't know why. The fox was in the icon tray at the bottom. It did the flashy thing and then I had the DVD in with the blank DVD in the other bay. Then I tried to run DVD Shrink like I always do. When I clicked open disc I get

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

Failed to read file "D:\"

The parameter is incorrect.

Any other suggestions.

I had no problem at all with it using Shrink and DVDDecrypter. I did Shrink first, no problem, backed up with Shrink, it then linked to DVD Decrypter for the burn. Worked great. Maybe you have a bad disk.
