CRC Error during encoding process of Madagascar

Sorry if this has been addressed before.I'm trying to make a back up of Madagascar. During the Encoding process 36% into it I get a DVD SHRINK encoutered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read file "D:\" Data error (cyclic redundancy check). New to this. So I have no idea what this means. The disc looks clean of scratches and dirt. And I'm using DVD Shrink 3.2 and Nero 7 the free trial version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need more than DVD Shrink to do this movie it cannot handle the protection on it by itself. You have several options as the thread shows. You can dl the free DVD Fab Decrtypter from

http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

Just rip to your HDD and the use Shrink to open/process the files. Or you can use the 21 day trial version of AnyDVD which will run in the background and break the protection and then just use Shrink as usual.

i did Madagascar effortlessly last night with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..
