Hello,

I'll make this quick. No need for a lengthy post eh?

I have video files from different game captures and downloaded game clips, etc. They are in various formats such as .avi, .mpg, .mpeg, etc. I am needing a program that simply allows me to drag clips into the software and create a working DVD with basic menus (nothing fancy), and perhaps chapters if its not asking to much. I'm hoping to avoid something that is file format specific (only takes avi for example). I suppose I can always use a converter but data loss hopefully won't be an issue.

Does anybody have an idea of what is out there that will work? Free if possible, Retail if not.

Thank you in advance,

SolShrike

Ok, so once they're converted to MPEG2 I'm still in the same situation. The link you provided refers to encoding movie files into DivX, which I don't want to do. I can convert files that I have to MPEG2, sure, but I need software that allows me to make simple menus, drag and drop clips, and then burn it.

Further ideas?

my most relevant suggestion would have to be trying Nero Vision Express as it is a very common program that many people have...

otherwise you could use software like Power Producer, WinDVD Creator or another...

if you were desperate, you could use TMPGEnc (free version) convert the files to MPEG and create a video cd from them...

Thanks folks, I'll see what I can do with these programs you've suggested :)

i keep on finding that applications that are made solely for one thing like encoding are much better than the ones that have multiple purposes.
