Hi guys! Im frustrated! I got my little brothers old ps2 chipped with a crystal chip. Then I bought myself a brand new ps two and went directly from the store to the mod guy. Just picked it up today and guess what? It is worse at reading then my little brothers old style ps2! Anyway I bought Verbatim 16x´s and discovered minimum burn speed is 6x resulting in non working games or skipping games that take ages to load. Great I just bought 150 of them. Red dead revolver works perfect on both machines. Burnout Revenge too. The Warriors almost perfect on my bros, skippes on mine. Fifa 06 works on my bros, dosent get past fifa06 logo on mine. Im hoping you guys will tell me that its just because of the 16x and that i need to get 8x´s so i can burn @ 4x. So what is the problem

Unfortunately you bought a lot of disks that you probably wont ever use. There aren't too many games that like being burned any higher than 4x. You may want to reserve those disks for movies, but even those are better when burned slow. Looks like you got 705Gb worth of data backup disks.

If you look around the net, you can find a 100 spool of Taiyo Yudens for anywhere between $32-$39US shipped.

thank you for your reply. I live in Denmark the most tax plagued country in the world Tax=46%. 1½ $ tax on each disc! Yup thats right 10 discs cost 25$ for Verbatim 16x's. So I buy my discs online from Germany. 22$ for 50 Verbatims. Unfortunatly they dont have TY anywhere that i have looked. :-( I really hope the 8x Verbas will fix the prob. I just burned a game to a Verb DVD-RW @ 4x and it works flawlessly! I changed the booklit to DVD-R.

I bought those same DVD-R's yesterday and have a few successful backups but they load really slow. And I can burn slower than 6X with on my PC just 4x's seems to give me coasters so far...
