Hiya, As a 1 time Guru & Deity user of Kazaa I have now had to re-install Windows XP to overwrite the Registry corruption that Kazaa has created. This is a spyware P2P program that relies on "sharing" to spread its adverts and malware. Uninstall does not work, even via the Add/Remove menu section as the Registry is loaded with Trojans.
Got the OS CD? Put aside half a day and re-install...back-up all data first of course. Oh...BTW...if it's too good to be true (free music, free films etc)...it usually is! Welcome to the brave new digital world...Kazaa belongs in the bin with Napster.

HALLLELUUUJAA!!!!
Your all starting to get the message that Kazaa is for brain dead morons who only use it because its all they've ever heard of (other than Napster)!!!
There is no such thing as a free lunch. So choose you file sharing apps carefully or use FTP services if you can handle the contention ratios!!!!

Monzaman,
DO you think Morpheus is any better?
Or can you suggest FTP sites - I'm on a T1 connection at home so I don't think contention is an issue!
Cheers,
Owj
(ps. I'm glad you agree that Kazaa is the program of the devil...but I didn't think Bill Gates was the author of Kazaa ;-)

I haven't tried it yet, but I know if it has any kind of banner advert it can't be good.
Do you really want a program doing something when you're not looking?????

Since monzaman has mysteriously become inactive, I'll field your question mooreo. Morpheus is NOT any better than Kazaa...infact, they are both on the same network: Gnutella. While I have just begun to expand myself from kazaa, you're going to want to spend a little time getting used to the more advanced ways of getting files over the internet. Lemme put it this way, If my little sister can use Kazaa, theres something seriously wrong with that... I have had a lot of success with mIRC for software and movies, for music try an FTP, there are tons of em. While morpheus claims to be spyware free, there is so much crap on that network you'll inadvertantly run into viruses, etc. Search afterdawn for a solution to your plite.
Hope this helps.

Hey no problem mooreo, happy to help! You may just want to go out and try K++ like everyone is saying...I don't use it personally, but from what I hear, its worlds better than P2P. eMule is really cool too. Refer to Dela's tutorial on setting it up and downloading it, helped me out huge...BIG PROPS AGAIN DELA!
