When I prepare to download a movie to my hard drive a message says it will delete all files with the word dvd in it. Why? and will it actually delete all of my saved movies?

don'r worry about it and click on yes. it will not delete anything. i use it all the time.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

ok i didn't want to get into a long explanation, fab has a folder in which it puts the files. fab always uses the same folder unless you tell it to use another one. so it tells you that it will delete all the files from the folder even if the floder is empty. just click yes man.
