After that I have installed a Nimo50Build8 it doesn't work!
The programs doesn't recognise the .d2v type and VirtualDub don't open the old file .avi tha I make some month ago with VFAPIconv (the .vob file are still ine the same directory) It open the file but show all frame with a black frame. Now I Don't know how I can to restore the old situation. I uninstall the NimoCodec I have reinstalled the VFAPIconv...but it don't work!
How can I do? I hope that somebody understand that one I write. Thanks....

After you have Uninstalled NIMO, you must repair all the Missing Codecs, I suggest you get these:
Kristal Studio Codec Pack v4.33
DivX Video Bundle v5.0.3
XviD Video Codec (latest version)

I'm brazilian, and I have a similar problem. But, in my case, i didn't have installed/uninstalled nothing. When I do the conversion with VFAPIconvEN, I can watch the movies for one day. In the next day all that I have are black frames. To me, it seems like a code key, and I'd like to know if it could really be so, and if there is something that I can do to recover my films (actually, my daughter's cartoons...). For your information, I didn't process anything else after the VFAPIconvEN, the AVI files are exactly the same way they were then.

I Rather doubt it has anything to do with codes, since VFAPI is a Free Software. You didn't happen to delete the Original file ? VFAPI only creates a FrameServing file, it does NOT replace the original, if you delete the file from which you created the VFAPI file, it will not open.

Hey,
I'm running Windows XP Professional and was able to use VFAPI codec 1.05 to convert my .d2v frameserving files to a fake AVI to edit in VirtualDub.
However, I recently formatted my HD and reinstalled VFAPI, ASPI (newest), CladDVD XP, and Microsoft .NET Framework--all of which worked together before to make DivX files. Now I am getting an error when I try to import .d2v files into VFAPI 1.05. How can I fix this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Did you also register VFP files in the system so that the OS will recognise them properly ? as in, can you use the D2V files within TMPGEnc ?

No, I haven't checked that, but, all I want to do is open that .d2v file so that I can make a fake .AVI file to edit in VirtualDub. I checked some old threads on the forum and one of them suggested getting and older version of the program. That didn't work. Any ideas?
P.S. I have come across 2 versions of the VFAPI Reader 1.05 Codec:
One that self-registers all filetypes and adds an item to your add/remove programs list
AND
One that you extract to a folder and click on a .bat file to register the filetype--Neither one works.
P.P.S. I am running Microsoft Windows XP Professional

I Strongly suggest you make sure everything is registered and if possible, recreate the D2V/Fake AVI, files, just to make sure ;-)
