I've read through several posts now and still have yet to find out whats wrong with my ps2. I bought a premodded ps2 with a DMS4 Pro (it came with a clear casing so I don't know what model it is but it is a slim so it must be 12-14). It already had Toxic OS version 0.3 on it. I have been unable to play any backups. I've been using Sony Dvd+ and DVD- and i figured maybe it was me being a noob at it so I tried buying a few backups from consoleshack. I figured them being professionals I could rely on there discs to work to solve my problem but there's didn't work either. However it was on memorex media which is one of the ones to avoid I thought which make me wonder if maybe its not jsust me. I wanted to know if anyone knew how to get these backups running or am I doomed and I should try buying a hard drive and uploading to that. Also can I rip the games i got from consoleshack since they've been ripped b4 will it be ok from me to rip from them and not have to worry about rebuilding the isos and so on? Anyone with the answers to any of these questions would be very helpful. (By the way does anyone know where i could buy the power supply for the hd because the hd connector came with it but my girlfriend threw out the plug for it so I couldn't power the hd if i had it) Thanks again all ahead of time.

What happens when you try to run a burnt disc. bsof? rsof? (Black screen of death? Red screen of death?) have you tryed holding the square button when you turn on your playstation? that will boot right in to the chip. once there check your settings. Or select load disk from the toxic os. The toxic team came out with a upgraded bios v1.4 on the 24th. have you tried turning on your ps2 holding the L1 button and running a real disc does that work. You have to give more details about your prob. If you can access your chip but not play any games then I'd down the new bios and if it won't upgrade then it was a bad install and the wires have to be shortened or have to use bigger power wires. that happened to me on my first install.
here's a great place for any of your questions.

I can run real discs completely fine. As for the screens with my own media (I"m using Sony DVD-) I get BSODs but with something like the Toxic 1.4 upgrade disc and the games I bought online I've seen RSODs. I'm starting to think there is a problem with the CDVD connections (O-W) from reading up on the Toxic site that seems to be a possibility. I would upgrade the bios to the new 1.4 but that doesn't seem to be working and I'm following all the suggestions as closely as possible burning as slow as I could on different burners. I'm hoping its not the wires but if it is i'll have to send it in. I have no soldering experience so I guess i'd have no choice :(. Anyone got any last suggestions b4 I send it back???
