I have a sony DRU-800A and the specifications says that i can burn
DVD-R at 1x. I put a dvd media that suport 1x-8x burn speed. im used nero 6 AND dvd decrypter lastest version, but the lower speed that i can burn is 4x. I want burn at 1x. if this dvd burner write DVD-R at 1x as mentioned..how i can force it to burn at 1x with nero or dvd decrypter??. i used firmware KY06. nero showme the option of 1x 2x and 2.4x to burn, but when i insert the media in this case (maxell 1x-8x) or (memorex 1x-4x) nero automatically showme that the lower speed is 4x. why this happends if the media's support 1x??
the problem is the dvd burner?? or is the program that im used???

Don't worry about the 1X Burn. 4X is fine. I made 10 DVD-R backups at 1X and half of them had stalling and sound skips. I reburned those games at 4X and every single one of my 50 backups plays perfectly.
Do them at 4X. It works the best (in my experience)

speeds al depends on the combo used,(burner/disk/firmware),but as stated above, dont worry x 4 is the best speed to burn at anyways

didn't i already see this question posted before?
the firmware you have is up to date.
scrap the Memorex, they are pure crap.
go into my computer and right click on the icon for your
burner and then go into properties. Then you may find an
option there that will fix it.

Go with Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or Sony DVD-R's. They are by far the best.

I personally use only Philips 8X DVD-R
I have used TDK in the past and they worked fine too
Taiyo Yuden are said to be the very best, although i have
never used them as Philips works every time for me, saw no need to switch.
But buy 8X speed DVD's then you should have no problem
burning them at 4X
