I thought I decrypted the movie alright, but when I go to shrink it, Shrink 3.2 says DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to open file C:-----\----\VTS_01_1.VOB. I even used the ARccOS path method, but I still get this message.

Try re-ripping with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.2 This will handle this movie.
Cheers.
PS get it at the software tab at this forum.

I had trouble with this movie as well. I installed AnyDVD trial version and then DVDShrink worked perfectly.

Every now and then if DVD Shrink won't rip a DVD I've used DVDdecrypter in file mode then opened with Shrink and has worked everytime. With AnyDVD, DVD Shrink, and DVDdecrypter I haven't come across a DVD I couldn't backup yet.

That is the copy protection doing its job...you havent got around it yet. Do you have AnyDVD or DVD43, DVDFab Decrypter...you will need one of these programs to get the job done...DVD Shrink won't do it on its own.

Hey why is DVD43 free and AnyDVD is not free, only the 21 day trial version. Is Any DVD better or what?

AnyDVD is not free because they have to pay programmers to constantly update their product to keep up with new encryptions. DVD43 is free because that is the way they disigned it...and you don't get regular updates, so you might have to wait awhile for new code to come out to circumvent the copy protection that AnyDVD is already cracking.
So in my opinion AnyDVD is the better program...it's just what you want...or you get what you pay for.

You should save your AnyDVD trial for a better movie. There is no new protection on this DVD, only different way of corrupting the movie and screwing up that actual DVD. I ripped this movie with DVD Decypter v3.1.0.0, with no help from AnyDVD or anything else like that:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260734
You can also use a PSL to rip the movie. here is one I made for the widescreen version:
PSL2

To use the PSL, copy and paste it in Notepad and then save it as "Stealth.PSL". If you get a text document, then you are saving as text, make sure you are doing all file types.

Thats the thing though, I don't have a dual layer disc or a drive for that matter, so I rely on DVDShrink to fuck for me, and it ain't doing its job.

You use the PSL list in DVD Decrypter just to rip the movie from disc to your hard drive, then you can use DVD Shrink to compress the ripped movie so you can burn it to a single-layer disc.

Open DVD Decrypter, place movie in dvd drive. Select File -> Protected Sectors List (PSL) -> Import File. Then it will import the list. Then hit Decrypt button wait til finished. Then open Shrink and have your way with it. Good Luck

I used DVD Decrypter with DVD Shrink as well, but I simply decrypted in file mode the opened the video folder with Shrink and presto.
Of course I have AnyDVD running too so maybe that was it.

I had to use DVDfab to rip mine. It will split it up onto 2 discs but It is the only one that I could find that would do it.

DVD Shrink hasn't been updated in about 2 years or so, and will not be updated ever again. Still a great program though.

Try using just AnyDVD running behind DVD Shrink.
@dhs58
The developer for DVD Shrink now works for Nero and has given us Recode...
