I have 10 or so episodes of a TV show converted to DVD/VOB using WinAvi. What's the easiest way to separate these into their 10 episodes selectable via a menu? And anyway of doing so without resorting to a re-encode?

The exact steps will depend on how the VOBs were authored to begin with. If each episode is a separate title (ie PGC) you could reauthor with DVD Shrink to get separate VOBs for each one (ie go into reauthor mode and add all the titles to the new disc). Once you have them separated you can use pretty much any standard authoring program to author them with menus.
