So after hours of frustration, countless threads read and re-read, I finally got WMC to work so that my 360 could actually see the PC that had WMC running. The solution for me: I run a wirelss gaming adapter (Linksys WGA45G) plugged into a hub, with the hub serving both the 360 and PS2. My laptop connects via wireless to my network. Once I connected my laptop to the hub, my 360 immediately found the laptop and connected.

The problem: it seems to use whatever folders it wants to share. I know you can configure your folders, remove the defaults, etc. THIS DOESN'T WORK. When I first connected I only saw two songs, which happened to be located in the following directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music\Sample Music

Of course, I had setup other folders inside WMC with my personal music, however I couldn't see that at all from the 360. I thought maybe something was cached, so I removed ALL folders from WMC (so it shouldn't share anything). Rebooted the 360 and my laptop. Same thing, 360 only saw two songs, the ones that were in the directory above. I added a folder in WMC to a directory of MP3s that I ripped from a CD, and the 360 wouldn't see it. Rebooted both machines, stopped and started the WMC service, same thing. The only way I was able to add media was to add it to the default folder that I mentioned above.

What the ***??? Anyone else experienced this, or know of a fix?

you best bet would be to get an external USB hard drive and stuff your stuff on there. llama.com's xbox360 section has a tut on how to get the 360 to dectect an external that is plugged into the USB controller ports, you have to format a Fat32 or somthing like that and it should work, but check llama.com just in case.
