Hi,

I have created a dvd from multiple avi files, and I have good picture and sound when playing on my pc as well as a simple dvd player attached to a tv. I have another player that doesn't play the audio track, however.

I used BeSweet to rip the audio (it was in AC3) to seperate files and then have used TMPGEnc Xpress to recombine into mpeg format.

It just seems strange that the better system I have doesn't play the audio.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

But, is your system able to decode AC3 audio?
To you have some AC3 codec installed (like fcchandler's AC3ACM decompressor http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/AC3ACM/) on your PC?
Being unable to play AC3 tracks is not so uncommon.

Yes, I have AC3 installed. There is no problem playing it on my pc. My nicer DVD system, however, doesn't play the audio.

Just a question:

MPG doesn't support AC3 format. Or you're speaking of another format? (like VOBs...)

Originally, it was in AC3. Not having the AC3 plugin, I demuxed the audio into mp2 and then remuxed it with TMPGEnc.

The standalone that I'm trying to play it on is a multi-system player routed through a receiver into a small home theater system. Nothing too fancy, but it sure beats a tv speaker...

Sorry, that is a little vague. I do have AC3 codec, but I don't have the AC3 plugin for TMPGEnc. So it was no problem to Demux into mp2 and then remux with Xpress.
