Best type of dvd to burn lables onto disk?

I have always used a sharpie marker to write the name of a movie onto a dvd that I burn.

However, a family member just bought a new dvdburner which has a Lightscribe feature to allow the ability to burn labeling right onto the disc.

Do you have to buy certain disks for this?

For example I am considering the following:

Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R Media White Inkjet Hub Printable
Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R Media Silver Thermal Lacquer
Taiyo Yuden 4X DVD-R Media Silver in Tape Wrap

you need "lightscribe" discs...they are NOT the same as your "run of the mill" inkjet printables, regardless of WHO manufacturers them...

Lightscribe discs are also more expensive than your "regular" ones...

for example: http://supermediastore.com/lightscribe-light-scribe-dvd-r-cd-r-me...

that is what you have to choose from...and DO NOT get the HP, Philips, or TDK kinds...LOL...so, basically, if you want GOOD QUALITY Lightscribe discs, the ONLY ONE i can recommend is the Verbatim one~ :)

the fact that the SAME HOLDS TRUE with the manufacturers of the 3 brands i mentioned above, puts them in the "crap" category as to what to expect from the disc itself...with the exception of Memosux not being on that list, those 3 brands are what i MOST FREQUENTLY steer people AWAY from in terms of crappy media, so, be careful in your decision~
