I have a PS2 Slim V12 and would like to be able to play back-ups of my games. I have a low budget and was wondering if getting a Slim Kit Pro 3.6 for "slim" PS Two ($30 includes the SwapMagic Disk and 3 tools) is worth the money or should I save up $125 for a DMS4 Pro (Installed) I don't mind swapping disk but I want the back-up games to work. I want to believe that this kit will work fine with my PS2 V12 but not 100% confident that this device works as stated http://www.modchip.com/ps2/v12slimkit.php

As long as you burn on good media, you shouldn't have a problem. The only real difference is that with Swap Magic, you have to rebuild some of the larger games and, as you already mentioned, swapping the discs. The kit is just a mechanism used so that you don't have to reset your console when you switch games, so it should be fine.
