It really isn't complicated at all, you have to have 1.0 or 1.5 firmware obviously, open up the dev hook.22 zip file, there'll be two folders, 1.0 sand 1.5, i have 1.5 so i open that folder, inside that is a psp folder, open that and there is a game folder, open that and there are two folders, DEVHOOK and DEVHOOK%, one orignal and one created by kxploit to allow it to run. Grab these two files and copy them into your x:\psp\game\ folder, so that when you connect your psp to the pc and browse to x:\ it will say psp folder, open that, and there'll be a game folder, open that and the two folders DEVHOOK and DEVHOOK% folders will be under that.
Have you got umdemulator 0.8c installed? if you don't know how to install it just ask. Plenty of guides out there tho. Once you load up umdemulator 0.8c go to load type and change it to system boot. then click on a game, it will boot you back to the psp menu, and if you had a umd (say demo disc) in the drive, when you scroll to umd it will show whateever game you selected from the umdemulator menu.
But the whole point is not to use a umd, so go to mem stick, select dev hook, and then choose the game you want to boot from it, playing NBA live 06 right now using dev hook, tho most of what i own runs fine just thru emulationg the demo disc.
Hope that helped some, but don't be efraid to ask questions dude, i'll try and help as much as possible. It is saturday afterall :)

thanks alot, i have umdemulator installed and what not. um, where did you download ur dev hook .22? the exact location, considering all the ones ive downloaded so far have nothing like a "1.0" and a "1.5" folder. if it did i woulda had it working in a snap , considering i know more then just a little bit about homebrews, but all the dev hook .22 that ive downloaded have a good 10 files, and its sooo confusing, i really appreciate ur help

pbailey you seem to know how to do this very well! Can you help me? Alright this is what ive done so far...ive installed both UMD emulator 8.0 and DevHook 22 but the ISO NBA 06 does not seem to be working...ive tried everything! You mentioned that you need to go to Load and change it to syste boot? Is that on the UMD emulator screen? because i dont see those settings on there anywhere! Do you need a game inside the psp for this to work? Because when i click on the iso file in the UMD emulator it does take me back to the main menu like you said....and then i go to devhook and see it on there as well and click on it also, but then it takes me back to the main menu once again...what should i do? Or could anyone else who knows what to do, help me with this problem?

YEah, that's from the umd emulator load screen, where it shows all the options such as clcok speed, boot type etc. Yoou just scroll up the top and change boot type to system load, then scroll down to your iso and hit X. You'll be booted back to the psp OS, then just scroll up to umd game and instead of the demo disc or whatever game yuo have in there it will show nba live 06. OK just reread your post, yeah, if you're using umdemulator 0.8 then you need a umd in there, the demo disc works fine, the one that came with your psp.
If you're going to use devhook there's no need to boot umd emulator first, just select dev hookfrom a cold boot (ie not have umd emulator running) and select it from there, let me see something... yeah there's no need to change anything in dev hook, just make sure it's umd game from teh boot select ioption. You can obviously see your nba live 06 iso from the menu in umd emulator and devhook? ALso what size is your nba iso? For reference mine's 361MB.
Try with the demo disc in there and make sure you can see nba live 06 when you scroll up to umd under game. Yell back with any otheq's or probs. I'll see if i can't help.

Wonder if you can help, Im using downgraded psp (now 1.5) and think i have set everything up correctly in the memory card. Using both dev hook and umd emulator (without a UMD being present) placed infected in ISO folder but i cant select where to boot from when using Dev Hook therefore cant load it! Any ideas? Thanks

ok, assuming the iso is fine, when you boot dev hook the 1st screen shows UMD Select and under it a list of your iso's currently on the mem stick. Scroll down to your iso and press circle.
It will bring up a new menu called Top Menu with 5 options and exit as the 6th. All you need to do is go into boot select, 5th down, and make sure UMD Game is selected. Then scroll back upto start and off you go...
However, if your iso is not in the UMD Select list it's prolly not supported by dev hook. I've read elsewhere that it requires UMD Emulator 0.8c to work, using direct load.. flash 0 and 1 off, as in most of the cases..
If you're unsure if your iso is in working order, just go into umd emul and make sure it's listed there. If it is in there but not dev hook, i'm afraid it's not supported by dev hook, and so you'll need a umd disk in to use it with umd emulator, a demo disc works fine. I don't own infected, or else i'd check if it works with dev hook and fast loader 0.7, but i can only go off mayhems 1.5 compatibility list. Holla back if your still having troubles. Hope that helps somewhat.

Hey all
I'm trying to get the NBA 06 iso (not NBA Live) to load up. I've tried Fastloader, UMD Emulator 0.8 and Dev Hook. Can't get it to start with any of these. The most I get is the title screen right before the system shuts down. Any ideas? The ISO is supposedly a good file (not corrupt) but I'm tapped!
