How can i tell if a DVD plays both NTSC and PAL?

my cousin in another country has the Sony MHC-ZX70DVD.

is there a way to tell if it will play my ntsc DVDs from here
(as the standard where he lives is PAL)

also the DVDs are burned so that could be a prob as well..


is there is listing of region free DVD players somewhere?
