I've tried to burn Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and it hasn't been working. When i use shrink to burn it, the program just shuts down. It doesn't say theres an error, it just shuts down. Does anyone know whats wrong? I've read that i should use clonedvd, does that work with anydvd, in conjuction? I just want to know why it isn't working.

just here to tell you that this is the wrong movie to take s--t from. what a garbage that was.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

I don't know wth you are talking about but Spotless was a great movie. It reminded me of early David Lynch. It was a weird movie but that was what was good about it. It wasn't like other movies you've seen. You're pretty much the only person I've met that doesn't like it.

But now to the problem. Could you tell me the errror you are getting word for word? And when does this error happen? Also how much RAM have you got.

@ glueater. i mean no offence in what i'm about to say. i know many people(you sound like one of them)who in order to seem and sound, let's say progresssive or smater than the rest of us, are willing to say that they enjoy movies like the crap we are talking about here just because the movie seems artsy or different. well i'm not into artsy, different or advance, i'm a regular joe who enjoy simple and good movies. i'll bet that you are one of those people who went to see that garbage at central park in NY, called."the gates"
p:s: you said yourself.qoute"It reminded me of early David Lynch. It was a weird movie but that was what was good about it. so that movie was good because it was weird? rest my case.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

@elizerroj

If you didn't like the movie, why did you bother to post in this thread...are you trying to harrass? Move on and try to help others that is what this site is about.

@homeg269

AnyDVD and CloneDVD are both developed by Slysoft and do work well together. But the beautiful thing about AnyDVD is that it works well with many other progs, such as DVD Shrink. As far as DVD Shrink shutting down, you may have a bad install. Do you have Nero, DVD Decrypter or Imgburn. If so you will need to burn the ISO image created by DVD Shrink with one of these progs, because DVD Shrink doesn't have a burn engine.

I think LOCO is right, and this thing is getting off topic so this will be my last post in this subject (not this thread). YOu can respond if you want to or not.

I am a little 'progressive' but i'm not 'artsy'. I mean I hated "sideways" even though it was liked by pretty much every critic I read. I hate those idiots that say a painting is really good and stuff about color symetry even though it looks like a child painted it. But I feel that spotless was a full of meaning and depth. What I meant by 'weird' & 'good' is that: anyone can make a movie that has depth but w/ a weird movie you don't really understand it and you have to think about it and there's symbolism.

I don't think there was anyhthing special abot spotless so I don't think you will need AnyDVD or FAB. But it's been a while and I might be wrong. And 'just shutting down' makes me more sure that it's not an ecyption deal. Do what LOCO said and could we have a log of whatever you burned w/?

I am also having problems with this DVD. I have the newest version of Shrink but when I try to get Nero it gives me a message saying I need to delete my old version before I install the version 7 DEMO so I didn't get it.

However, my problem is that it doesn't even start to compress as soon as I press Ok it freezes. I know it is not the disc cause I have put a couple out of the pack in. I am using Verbatim DVD+R 16x (MCC-004) and I have backed up 125 or so discs with only one disc failing and that was because the dye was really really f'd up.

I used the purchased version of AnyDVD. Then Shrink and Nero. It hasn't failed me until this movie.

@slosten

You are saying that your system freezes or the program is freezing. What are your system specs?

Do you have too many programs running at the same time. Shrink is very CPU intensive.

The program quits working...like there is some sort of protection that as soon as it starts encoding it messes with the program.

It's not a CPU problem as I have ran more programs than I am running today with no hitch whatsoever in burning.

Here is what the error says :

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

Programming error - exception occured

Then I hit Ok and it brings up the Windows XP ____has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

And it had the data error report that says this...

AppName: dvd shrink 3.2.exe AppVer: 3.2.0.15 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00011404

If that helps any?

It looks like your version of Shrink is 1 version behind. I would uninstall it and get the 3.2.0.16 from http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/ Just download the .exe file and reinstall. See if that corrects the problem.

I would use add/remove programs in windows to get a clean uninstall.

Hope this helps.

hmmm....downloaded it and came up with this Version 3.2.0.14 - 25 July 2004

That's what the version history says when it is actually 3.2.0.15 download. No 3.2.0.16 in English.

However, there is a Japanese version 3.2.0.16 to download there.

Didn't work. I thought maybe the full name as my folder to put the files in was too large for the program so I abbr. it and it still didn't work. I tried restarting my PC and no go.

I just considered this disc a loss and didn't try burning it again. However, I found another that gives me this same odd error, Born on the Fourth of July. Now both of these movies were made in 2004 by two different companies but I don't see why the protection or whatever I am encountering hasn't been expierenced before.

Ok I don't know how much this will help in solving this but EVERY time that I delete the files it starts to compress and try again the file always comes up as 1272KB. So it stops at the same point EVERY time I try it. It also stops at 0.05MB on the Buffering stat.

Ok so I figured I would try something new and tried to perform a deep analysis and not run in low priority mode. Basically all options checked to try and get it to work. No avail, it still froze after the deep analysis at 0% encoded and brought up this error:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

Programming error - exception occured

The parameter is incorrect.

Windows also still claims the ntdll.dll as the error to report
