OK, say I have an avi file, that is too big to put on a disc.... can I shrink it to fit? or how do I get it on a disc? thanks for yours help

If you have converted your files to DVD compliant files then use DVD Shrink and then burn with either DVD Decrypter or Nero. Here is a guide that shows conversion and shrink/decrypter.
