DNAS ID Question

I know this has probably been asked several times, I did search, but I couldn't tag it if it was there. So the question is simple. If I wish to backup an image (ie. per say Madden 2006 as an example) If I were not to touch anything regarding the DNAS ID would the game still work for singleplayer. I know that in order to play online DNAS ID modification is required. I was just asking this question as it seems as if it were unanswered and I'm not a big fan of online play with PS2 to begin with. Thanks for the answer in advance.

yes,even if u dont patch the Dnas u can still play single player,
