In this order ...

1- Made in Japan Fuji

2- Office Depot

3- Made in Taiwan Fuji

..if you can get the MIJ Fuji discs, they're Taiyo Yuden (excellent!!)
..the Office Depot are Ritek (still very good)
..the MIT -R Fuji discs are probably ProDisc (crap) while the MIT +R are either Ritek or Ricohjpn and the OD discs are a better bottom line price

the office depot will usually code out as ritek 03
and the best buy fuji, if they say made in taiwan, they will end up being ritek 03 as well, but if they are labeled made in japan, they code out as taiyo yuden 02.. all still good media.....

Some of the MOT +R Fuji are made by Phillips .. and some of the MIT -R Fuji are either Fuji made or ProDisc .. all junk! Be careful when you purchase made in Taiwan Fuji discs ...

Yes, the FUJI MIJ's are the best, but be warned, the newer Office Depot 16x disks are now RICOHJPN disks. I'm boycotting OD until someone tells me that they have gone back to Ritek, well maybe not since Doc TY enlightened me the the wonderful world of Taiyo Yuden I think I'll stay with TY's for now.

The last Office Depot brand discs I purchased were 4x and coded out as R02 and they have unfortunatley been pretty much hit or miss during playback and trying to copy from the burns.

Hi,

Here's my 2 cents...

If you like to gamble, get some brand name, and maybe you will get a good batch (Good Media ID).

Since being a member here, I do not gamble no longer.

I purchase genuine Taiyo Yuden and I can't be more happy !

I somewhat agree. the sony -rs are crap but i found the +rs mij which code out to be YUDEN000-T02-000 at best buy and pricematched to the 17.99 from compusa ad online at bestbuy at their service desk but dont leave the others behind because they are great deals especially the 3 50 packs for 36.99
