I heard some ppl say that silver does not allow online gaming, but then another guy tells me that you can play online during weekends. Could someone explain me the difference between both packages and point some links to help me. I'm hoping for some of the very fortunate 360 owners to shed some light for me, and others still waiting to get their hands in this promising console.

i dunno what people are telling you but there telling you liyes a gold member ship means you can play online for 12 mounths and the silver 1 is 3 mounths or somethin like tha

Xbox Live Silver is a free service that ships with all Xbox 360s and allows any Xbox 360 user with a broadband connection to get online and create a gamer tag as well as a new ID type called a gamer card. The gamer card is a profile that displays a gamer's interests, skill level, competitiveness and gaming accomplishments. In addition, gamers can use Xbox Live Silver to chat, download content and play certain games. Xbox Live Silver allows gamers to access most of the features of Xbox Live. The one key feature missing from the free service is the ability to play multiplayer games online.

You can play during special events, download online content. I think you get a trial of playing, like a month or so.

i thought it was 3 mounths o well anyway you know if you buy a xbox 360 do yuo get a gold card free with it or silver coz people say thay got 1 in there xbox 360.
