Guyz,, wud any1 b kind enough to lemme know how to burn an existing divx/xvid avi with subtiles. Any particular app to be used?

Eg: I have xyz.avi and the subtitles are in separate sub/srt files. I want to again burn this avi..but with subtitles on..so that xyz.avi plays with subtitles on by default ! So basically need to burn it on a CD-R.

this can be tricky, not all players support subtitles in seperate files,

personally If I want to create a movie with subtitles on I use Auto GK (guardian knot) to create the movie and unselect external subtitles (for the VOB sub options) this way they are burned into the movie image).

in your current setup, if you just burn it as normal and included the subs in the extended folder an application called VOB sub running with a compatible player should allow the subs to be selected

Auto GK is a free application, its a simple to use version of the more complex brother application called Guardion Knot.

http://www.rita.lt/guides/AutoGK_DVDtoAVI.htm

this is a link to a tutorial of how to rip a dvd to XviD using AutoGK, it includes links at the top on where to get the autogk application (http://autogk.net ) and the install options,

personally I'd recomend you read through this tutorial (ignoring the dvd decryptor first part if you know how to do this bit already, it includes information about subtitles and once you have installed Auto GK that installs tutorials about using it and you can skip straight to subtitles.

its a very easy to use application too.

good luck

Hi there,

VSO DivxToDVD v1.99 Pre-Release will:

- Convert all your internet movies (.AVI / .MPG etc..) to DVD Format

- Add subtitles (using .srt files / More formats to come in future releases)

- Add chapters to each files

- Create a menu (Menu entry for each file, based on the filename, for now)

- Burn your DVD creation to media, with it's own built in burn engine

UPDATE: Just re-read the threat and noticed he wanted to convert the .AVI and create a new .avi, not a VIDEO_TS directory, sorry !
