I have a wireless adaptor but it is not made by microsoft for the 360 is there anyway I can get that to be compatible it connects via usb just like the one microsoft makes if someone could let me know if there is a way to use the one i have or if i do have to go out and spend 100 dollars on microsofts garbage?

If it's drastically cheaper, have a go. But if it's around the same price, just
go for the Microsoft one.

what I am saying is I already have the wireless adaptor for one of my computers... will it work if i put it in the xbox360 or do i have to install it in someway?

No it won't work!! The wirless adapter you have for your computer requires software to be installed on the computer your using it on(you can't install software from a pc disc to an xbox360).
If the Xbox360 was setup to be compatible with pc wireless adapters and came with the support built into the 360 or with a download it would work. How do you think they can get away with charging 100 for it if you could buy a much cheaper pc alternative. You can still use a wireless ethernet bridge or an MS gaming adapter.
