any help on converting large AVI files to fit on standard 4.7 gb dvd disc cheers

anyone know how to convert large avi files so then can fit on standard dvd disc i have roxio media 8 but still it over runs any ideas would be greatly appreciated i am a newbie and have not got a clue so the simpler solution the better

Have you already converted your files to DVD compliant files? If not here is a guide that explains how to do it using DivXtoDVD and then using DVD Shrink to compress your files to fit on a standard DVD 4.7g disk. The guide shows burning with DVD Decrypter but if you have Roxio you can send your files to the HDD with Shrink and then burn with Roxio.
