Since it is the shopping season, what is the top 5 DVD-R media to buy since Memorex is the worse which are the most successful in recording ? I am tired of buying junk DVD-R's and throwing money away.

I have had the best luck with Sony DVD-R x8 speed media. I also like Imation DVD-R 8x speed. The DVD-R is compatible with all of my dvd players in the home, unlike some dvd +r media. STAY AWAY FROM MEMOREX MEDIA!!!

shabre - FYI, Imation media is actually just as bad as Memorex media. You may not notice a problem with Imation now, but you will eventually. I don't use anything but Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
Also, if you're burner is capable of booktyping, you can booktype DVD+Rs to DVD-ROM, which will play in virtually every DVD player manufactured.
