Posted this in the wrong forum; trying again here:
Ok, after much trying - I have finally burned my first VCD to where I can play it in my standalone DVD player... Here's my question... The problem I was having was that no matter what write speed I selected, it would burn at 8x which was too high. I needed 4x or below... I tried a lot of different media, and the last one finally worked. It was Fuji Film CD-RW 1x-4x. So I'm thinking my whole problem was the media I was using b/c I didn't change anything else. Now really, the ? is: do certain media types want to burn at a higher speed for some reason? Do I need to make sure that the discs I use specify 4x as its MAX speed?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

No, you don't. I use Discplanet 4x-24x discs for burning VCD's. I burn at 4x and they always work in my DVD player.
